It's official, the first passenger on board Quantum of the Seas is......a polar bear!

This giant pink sculpture is the creation of Australian artist, Lawrence Argent, who has created similar pieces of work featuring polar bears, rabbits and pandas.

The installation for Quantum of the Seas is called "From Afar" and stands 30 feet tall and has a weight of 8 tons. It is located on the top deck leaning against the SeaPlex and rock climbing wall, looking out to sea.

Argent's signature style uses triangles and this gigantic sculpture consists of 1,340 of them!

The pink polar bear had to be transported from the fabrication building on barge to Papenburg, where it was then lifted into the air by a crane and placed onto a flatbed truck which then delivered it to the construction hall, ready to be installed onto the ship.

Lawrence Argent stated, "It will be seen by many, many, many, many people. That's an exhilirating experience for an artist. I've done many projects throughout the world and they're always static in a specific city or venue."
