The world's first 'Smart Ship' arrived into the port of Southampton this evening.
The 168,000GT vessel, Quantum of the Seas, arrived at the port at 5pm.
She will stay overnight before heading on a 2 night press sailing on Friday at 5pm.
She will arive back into Southampton on Sunday 2nd November. Two Royal Caribbean ships will be in port that day, a very rare occurance for Southampton. Quantum of the Seas wll dock at the City Cruise Terminal, whereas Adventure of the Seas will dock at a more unusual location, the Queen Elizabeth II terminal.
Adventure will sail at 16:30, with Quantum of the Seas sailing just 30 minutes later.
Sunday will also mark Adventure of the Seas' final departure from Southampton, as next year she will be replaced by sister ship, Explorer of the Seas.
Quantum of the Seas will sail to her home port of Bayonne, NJ where her maiden voyage will take place on 23rd November.
Quantum of the Seas' sister ship, Anthem of the Seas, which is due to launch next year, will be based in Southampton. She will take over the role from Independence of the Seas, which is being based year round in America.
