The futuristic lifeboats are being built at the Fassmer shipyard just outside of Bremen, which is approximately 100km away from the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany. They are then being transported by inland waterways and expected to arrive in Papenburg on Thursday.
Each lifeboat is 12.5 meters long and 5.4 meters wide. Quantum of the Seas will be outfitted before entering service in November 2014.
